In letters 6 -10, we see how Celie starts noticing the strength of people around her, like Shug Avery’s independence and confidence. Think about someone in your life who inspires you to be stronger or more confident. What qualities do they have that you admire and try to learn from?

Prompt Response: My friend Stella inspires me to be stronger and more confident. She is so true to herself and she's not afraid to say what she means even if it will get her in trouble. She is so social and can make friends with anyone and I really admire her for that. I really admire how passionate she is about the things she likes and will learn everything there is to know about a topic. I admire how much she loves to share her passions with others and she can make any topic fun and interesting to hear about.

Summary: Today in class we read Letters 6-10 and answered discussion questions.

Reflection: I got better reading comprehension and analysis skills.

When Celie says, “The God I been praying and writing to is a man. And act just like all the other mens I know,” she expresses disappointment, betrayal, and disillusionment. In "The Lamb" and "The Tyger", both poems suggest that beauty and danger can come from the same source. Describe a time when something or someone you admired also scared or challenged you. How did that experience change the way you see the world or the idea of “goodness”?
