What is the most challenging part of working in a group? Discuss a time when a group assignment did not go as well as you planned and how you learned from that experience.

Prompt Response: The most challenging part of working in a group is having to rely on others to complete their share of the work. A time when a group assignment did not go as well as I planned was in my AP Biology class. We had to make a concept map of vocabulary terms and I had already done more than half of the words, but the project was due in just a few days and no one else had touched it. We had to complete this same project for every unit so this problem was reoccurring. On some occasions, I ended up doing all the work myself, but on other occasion my group members pulled through the night it was due. I think the issues was our different working style because I like being prepared and having things done ahead of time while my peers preferred to procrastinate and do things at the last minute. 

Summary: Today we started work on our Interactive Oral projects.

Reflection: I got better reading comprehension and skills practicing making a lesson.

Prompt Response:  A time in my life where something I believed in turned out to be different than I imagined was when I found out that Santa wasn't real. I never fully bought into the idea that one man could deliver presents to the entire world in just one night, and my parents didn't try all that hard to convince me of it, but I still remember feeling very conflicted on the topic. I would go back and forth, and at times believe wholeheartedly that Santa existed. However, I would still debate with my mom and try to convince her to admit that she was the one putting presents under the tree, and eventually she broke and told me Santa was just a made up character to make Christmas feel more magical for kids. Prompt Response:  A time when something has been both positive and a challenge was when I took AP Calculus. I felt proud being one of a few juniors in a senior class and I found a lot of satisfaction in the content. However, I also felt a lot of pressure to prove myself. I was simultaneously excited to be in the class and fearful that my teacher would think I didn't deserve to be. This shows how an experience can be both exciting and nerve wracking depending on how you look at the situation. Summary: Today in class we read the poems "The Lamb" and "The Tyger" and started working on our one pagers. Reflection:  I got better poetry analysis skills and practice putting information into a one page format.

Write about something that you wish you had more of.

Prompt Response:  One thing I wish I had more of is time. I wish there was more time in the day to be able to balance my school work with my hobbies and passions. I always find myself listing off things I wish I could do more often like reading, sewing, drawing, hanging out with friends, cooking, baking, and spending time with family. When I do have free time, I'm so exhausted from school and day to day life that all I want to do is sit around and do nothing. And when I do have the energy, I overwhelm myself by multitasking, like eating lunch while drawing while listening to an audio book. I wish I had more time to fit all of these activities into my day while being able to give each the time and care they deserve. Summary: Today in class we finished working on our identity poems and posters. Reflection: I practiced my poetry writing and graphic design skills by working on my poster.
