 Prompt Response: When making a choice about my career, while I think a balance between passion and financial stability is important, I value my genuine interest and passion for the field more than the financial side. I think I would rather be satisfied and happy with my life and career than have a ton of money and not be satisfied. Finding passion in my career will help me to stay motivated to work and find joy and purpose in working, instead of dreading it and working only to make money. Overall, I think prioritizing genuine interest and passion over financial benefits will lead to more long term happiness, fulfillment, and greater quality of life.

Prompt Response:  A time in my life where something I believed in turned out to be different than I imagined was when I found out that Santa wasn't real. I never fully bought into the idea that one man could deliver presents to the entire world in just one night, and my parents didn't try all that hard to convince me of it, but I still remember feeling very conflicted on the topic. I would go back and forth, and at times believe wholeheartedly that Santa existed. However, I would still debate with my mom and try to convince her to admit that she was the one putting presents under the tree, and eventually she broke and told me Santa was just a made up character to make Christmas feel more magical for kids. Write about something that you wish you had more of.

Prompt Response:  One thing I wish I had more of is time. I wish there was more time in the day to be able to balance my school work with my hobbies and passions. I always find myself listing off things I wish I could do more often like reading, sewing, drawing, hanging out with friends, cooking, baking, and spending time with family. When I do have free time, I'm so exhausted from school and day to day life that all I want to do is sit around and do nothing. And when I do have the energy, I overwhelm myself by multitasking, like eating lunch while drawing while listening to an audio book. I wish I had more time to fit all of these activities into my day while being able to give each the time and care they deserve. Prompt Response:  A time when something has been both positive and a challenge was when I took AP Calculus. I felt proud being one of a few juniors in a senior class and I found a lot of satisfaction in the content. However, I also felt a lot of pressure to prove myself. I was simultaneously excited to be in the class and fearful that my teacher would think I didn't deserve to be. This shows how an experience can be both exciting and nerve wracking depending on how you look at the situation. Summary: Today in class we read the poems "The Lamb" and "The Tyger" and started working on our one pagers. Reflection:  I got better poetry analysis skills and practice putting information into a one page format.
